You *can* run WordPress on Namesco servers but, if you choose a low-end plan, be prepared for a slow and unpleasant experience.

Firstly, Namesco does not use Apache as you'd normally expect, but Zeus, so don't expect to easily get htaccess stuff working. It was too much hassle to set up 'pretty' permalinks.

Don't expect direct access to the MySQL database either - in other words it will be a pain setting up some plugins.

Expect the connection to be slow, particularly trying to upload videos and images, even editing posts sometimes. Timeouts galore.

If you are working on behalf of a client, expect them to berate WordPress (because that's the visible bit) even if they chose the host against your advice. WordPress will get a bad name because of Namesco, because the client doesn't know any better (and why should they?)

We know that WordPress is quite resource hungry, but with a good host (even a shared one) it's not usually a problem - not for running a single site anyway. Avoid Namesco - you do get what you pay for. Pay more and get WordPress working the way it's supposed to.

If i could give this companies support & value a lower rating than 1, i would. They used to be good but over the last few years, awful. Support is a very bad joke, i´ve never called them without having less than 9 poeple waiting in the Q and of course you have to pay through the nose for this.

There have been very rude on occasions & if you are looking for an appology for thier mistakes, forget it. I had a website deleted and took 3 days to get it back on-line as they were bickering on who´s fault it was, no appoligy was made even though it was their fault.

Very expensive, they only have SQL & PHP in a couple of hosting packages, in this day and age, that is pathetic.

From reading other reviews, there are many more unhappy customers than happy

I wouldn´t recomend www.names.co.uk to my worst enemy

You´re been warned!
